The Cast

Well... It's been about 8 months since I have uploaded any pictures!!!! Time completely got away from me! So I have lots to upload and lots to write about it! To start with, you broke your leg - tibia to be exact - from running through the bathroom and slipping on water. :( It was a random, unique fall where your leg caught underneath your body weight and yup, snapped it. The break was clean - non displaced - and didn't need surgery. Sooooo.... the ER initially cast it with a white cast. But once we got into see your doctor in the ortho peds unit at the Children's Hospital of LA... they recast you with a super fancy cast! You picked out the color blue and the casting tech painted Elsa on it! So you got a really cool Frozen cast that did make the experience a bit less traumatic. We went to Disneyland to try and cheer you up, but it was still a rough couple of days because you were in a full leg cast (which the characters aren't allowed to sign - they signed your ears instead :). You were in the cast for miraculously only about 4 weeks! At week 2 they could already see new bone being laid down. Kids heal fast! They took the cast off but you wouldn't walk on it for a couple more weeks. It was a sloooow process. The chiropractor adjusted your hip, knee, and ankle multiple times which helped it more than anything else. Your alignment was extremely off. Slowly but surely, you got more confident and started walking again. Whewww... it was a long summer!

Elsa and Anna make everything better! Signing ears!

A spud picture of Mommy!
